Due to the higher load on the tailgate caused by the "Tub Stop" which is mounted on the tailgate when installing an ARB hardtop, the struts on this version of the Tailgate Assist are calibrated for this additional load.

The tailgate assistant supports not only the opening but also the closing of the heavy tailgate.
A high-quality Stabilus damper brakes the tailgate from falling down during opening, thus protecting the material and reducing the risk of injury. Closing the tailgate is in turn facilitated by torsion bar/damper (depending on the vehicle model). Thus, one-hand operation is possible.
